Texas Flange provides ASME and Non code Industrial pipe flanges for the Petrochemical, Process, and Waterworks industries in Stainless Steel Industrial Flanges, Alloy Steel Industrial Flanges and Carbon Steel Industrial Flanges. ANSI, API, AWWA pipe flanges in carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys and chrome steel.
Our steel flanges can be Weld Neck, Slip on, Blind, Threaded, Socket Weld, Lap Joint, Orifice Flanges, Ring, and custom steel flanges in sizes 1/2" to 203". Pressure classes - 75, 125, 150, 175, 250, 300, 350, 400, 600, 900, 1500, 2500, 5K, 10K, 15K, 20K. High Yield - Low Temp.
ASME B16.47 Large Diameter Flanges
ASME B16.47 is the large-diameter steel flange standard: weld neck and blind, NPS 26 through 60, Series A and Series B. Texas Flange machines those, and machines custom flanges to 203 inches, with MTRs, for oil and gas and other industrial service, in carbon, stainless, and alloy. This is the standard and the shop split between the two series. It is not a dimension table — use the live series pages for OD, bolt circle, and hole count.
Where B16.5 stops
B16.5 ends at NPS 24. The next standard size is 26, and it is B16.47. Past NPS 60 there is no ASME dimensional table. That work is a print: OD, ID, thickness, bolt pattern, grade. We build it through 203 inches.
Material at this size is not always a standard A105 forging. Standard A105 forgings top out around 10,000 pounds, so past that the flange is often A516 Grade 70 plate or a large forging. Stainless is A182 F304 or F316. Chrome-moly (F11, F22, F5, F9) shows up on high-temperature work. High-yield A694 grades show up on oil and gas transmission. MTRs are available on all grades. AWWA C207 waterworks flanges are a different family and a different bolt circle. Do not mix them with B16.47.
Series A vs Series B
Series A came from MSS SP-44. Heavier. Larger OD. Fewer, larger bolts. Larger bolt circle. RTJ is defined on Series A from Class 300 through 900. New construction and high external load usually land here.
Series B came from API 605. Lighter. Smaller OD and bolt circle. More bolts, closer together. Class 75 exists on Series B and not on Series A. Retrofit and replacement often land here because the pattern already in the line is B.
They do not bolt to each other. From the live Class 150 tables, NPS 26: Series A OD is 34.25 inches, bolt circle 31.75 inches, 24 holes. Series B OD is 30.94 inches, bolt circle 29.31 inches, 36 holes. Same NPS, same class name, different part.
B16.47 is weld neck and blind. A large slip-on is outside this standard. If the job needs one, it is an industry pattern or a custom, and the engineer signs it.
What to put on the RFQ
NPS, class, Series A or B, weld neck or blind, face, grade, bore or schedule. If you are past 60 or off-pattern, send the drawing.
